FROM SKETCHBOOK TO FABRIC ART BOOK
In this two or three day workshop we will be working on sketchbook pages from holiday photos or other treasured memory makers and then beginning to stitch small panels that will become pages of a fabric art book (or simply a stitched panel that can be framed).
Do not be afraid if you think that you cannot draw!! I'll show you how to use fine pens and tracing paper to achieve your goals. Some may call it cheating, but I prefer to think of it as simply being creative! :-)
Each person will make a start on a couple of pages during the workshop, but most of the stitching will be completed afterwards in your own time.
The photos shown below are from a sketchbook that I did for Cambodia and the stitched pieces followed on from the sketchbook pages. I used quite a few pieces of tracing paper and a lightbox to get my results....which (I think) are pretty good! Yours could be too.
All materials supplied.
N.B. Sewing machines are required for this workshop, and it is not really suitable for beginners.
COST for up to 15 people 2 days £650 3 days £800
